Last week's saw Mr. Darcy's (Colin Firth) infamous, impetuous, totally-not-in-the-book swan dive into the pond, but the meat of Andrew Davies' 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen's seminal work doesn't come until tonight's conclusion. It's a hot and bothered as ever - Elizabeth Bennet's (Jennifer Elle) twitty little sister runs off with a creep - but part 3 is about mature love. That hardly sounds romantic, but maturity is what elevates this P&P above modern rom-coms, even as it inspires them. It gives the story something most of its anticedents only aspire to: a well-earned happy ending. A *check your local listings for time
