Miss Austen starring Keeley Hawes to return for a second season on PBS Masterpiece!

Late on posting this...PBS Masterpiece recently announced on Jane Austen's 250th birthday (December 16, 2025) that Miss Austen starring Keeley Hawes (aka Matthew Macfadyen’s real-life wife) as Miss Cassandra Austen, (Jane’s older sister) returns for a second season! It'll be based on Gill Hornby's follow-up novel, "The Elopement," which further delves into the family life of Jane and Cassandra Austen.

Today ( January 27th ) is the lovely and ethereally beautiful,  Golden Globe ,  BAFTA , Academy Award nominee  for  Best Actress  (for her outstanding performance as  Amy Dunne  in  Gone Girl ) and Emmy Award winner  Rosamund Pike  (aka  Pride & Prejudice 2005 's very own  Jane Bennet )'s  42nd Birthday ! 'Pride & Prejudice Country' Pride & Prejudice (2005) film stars Keira Knightley , Matthew Macfadyen , Brenda Blethyn , Donald Sutherland , Tom Hollander , Rosamund Pike , Jena Malone , and Judi Dench . Travel to destinations featured in Pride & Prejudice Movies are often an inspiration for travelers, especially when the location is as beautiful as the English countryside. The fact that the East Midlands region of England was used extensively for location filming for Pride and Prejudice is especially fitting given that Jane Austen drew on the Derbyshire landscape for some of her most descriptive passages in the novel. Austen's descriptions of the county refer to there being "no finer county in England than Derbyshire", and feature "all the celebrated beauties of Matlock, Chatsworth, Dovedale, and the Peak".
