New Photos: Keira Knightley at Chanel Cruise 2026 show, talks Pride & Prejudice, her Elizabeth Bennet role, Emma Corrin, and her thoughts on Netflix’s new adaptation!
Keira Knightley, who remained one of Chanel's long-time ambassadors, attended the Chanel Cruise 2026 show held at the Villa d’Este on April 29, 2025 in Lake Como, Italy.
When asked by WWD (Women’s Wear Daily) about what she thinks of Netflix’s new Pride and Prejudice adaptation and if she has any advice for Emma Corrin who will be the next actress to be playing the iconic Elizabeth Bennet character…
“I don’t think Emma Corrin needs any advice.
Pride & Prejudice is one of the classic novels, Elizabeth Bennet is one of the classic heroines. It’s been made so many times, and it should be made again and again because there’s always something for a new generation. It’s one of those classic stories and yet it’s always modern because of the spirit of Elizabeth Bennet and the love story within it. So I can’t wait to see the new version of it, and I was very proud to be able to play the character.” -Keira Knightley
Speaking of Netflix productions, Knightley herself has a new movie coming up for the streaming platform at the end of the year. Titled “The Woman in Cabin 10” and based on Ruth Ware’s 2016 bestselling book of the same title, the psychological thriller directed by Simon Stone will see the actress star alongside the likes of Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham and Kaya Scodelario, among others. Also, speaking of Netflix’s upcoming P&P limited series adaptation, director Joe Wright was also asked about this as well in his recent Harper Bazaar interview:
HB: Have you heard about Netflix’s plans to adapt Pride and Prejudice into a series? Do you have any thoughts or words of advice?
Joe Wright: Oh, no. No advice. I’m excited to see what they’re going to do with it, and I think there are certain stories, almost like the ancient myths that speak to something within us, some kind of need, some kind of collective subconscious need, and they get repeated for each generation. So I hope that they’ll make it specific to the current generation and stay true to the—no, that sounds like advice. Forget that. “No, I don’t believe in advice.” And then go ahead and give it!
HB: I mean, it’s possible you might be this team’s Emma Thompson.
JW: Yes, yes. I’ve just got to improvise on Hampstead Heath.
