First Photo of Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth in upcoming film 'Operation Mincemeat'!
A first look photo (via Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye) has been released of P&P Actors (2005 and 1995's Mr. Darcys) Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth's new WWII Period Drama, Operation Mincemeat. The film will be released in UK Cinemas January 7, 2022. No release date for Netflix yet.
Penelope Wilton, Hattie Morahan, Johnny Flynn, and Kelly Macdonald also star.
I previously posted here and updated the Austen Actors in the cast (side note: looks Tom Wilkinson isn’t in this movie, even though he was reported to have joined the cast when it was filming. He’s no longer listed on the cast list on the IMDB page for this movie. Another Dashwood actor, but from the 2008 Sense And Sensibility version is on cast list instead)...
Besides Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth, 4 other Austen actors who are co-starring with them in this film are: Penelope Wilton (P&P 2005's very own Mrs. Gardiner; Downton Abbey TV & Movie), Tom Wilkinson Mark Gatiss (John Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility 2008), Hattie Morahan (Elinor Dashwoood of Sense & Sensibility 2008 TV Miniseries), and Johnny Flynn (Mr. Knightley of Emma 2020 film).
Matthew will be playing as Charles Cholmondeley
and Colin as Ewen Montagu. They are playing two brilliant British intelligence officers behind the Operation Mincemeat!!
