Amazon Prime orders two more Seasons of Ripper Street starring Matthew Macfadyen!
Two more seasons for Ripper Street!! Wohooo!!! What a great news (as I'm a big RS fan and have been watching this series and live-tweeting on twitter almost every episode since Season 1, this is exciting news) to wake up to this morning! Even better, not one, but two more seasons and this news comes on Episode (3) day of the third season of BBC America's crime mini-series Ripper Street starring Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn, and Adam Rothenberg! According to Radio Times, RS has been awarded two more seasons by UK's on-demand online streaming site Amazon Instant Video. Hopefully, Matthew (he seems "delighted" on his statement, which you can read below of his show's two more seasons renewal news) and his co-stars since S1 returns for the upcoming two Seasons. Ripper Street gets two more series from Amazon
The on-demand service has announced the Victorian period drama - starring Matthew MacFadyen and Jerome Flynn - will get another two runs
Great news for fans of Ripper Street this morning – the series has been awarded a further two series by Amazon Prime Instant Video.
The Victorian period drama – which stars Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn, Adam Rothenberg and MyAnna Buring – was axed by BBC1 back in 2013, before being revived by the on-demand service.
Series three premiered on Amazon Prime Instant Video late last year much to the delight of Ripper Street's loyal fanbase who campaigned heavily for its return. And while Amazon decline to publish their viewing figures, they have revealed the series was streamed more than any other TV show when season three launched last November, becoming the most watched first show of new customers joining the service.
Ripper Street is set in Victorian Whitechapel and sees Inspector Edmund Reid (Macfadyen) head up H Division, joined by Inspector Bennet Drake (Flynn) and Captain Homer Jackson (Rothenberg) in solving the often gruesome crimes in London's East End in the years following Jack the Ripper's string of killings.
“I'm delighted to be embarking on another dose of Ripper Street – blood and guts, pocket watches and Victorian head-gear, wonderfully dark, moving and mysterious story lines from Mr Richard Warlow," said Macfadyen following the recommission. Read full article. (Radio Times)

Amazon Orders Two More ‘Ripper Street’ Seasons For Prime Instant UK
Amazon rode to the rescue of Ripper Street in early 2014, shortly after the BBC had decided not to move beyond Season 2. Season 3 of the period drama launched on the UK’s Amazon Prime Instant Video in November last year and was streamed more than any other TV show, attracting larger viewing audiences than some major U.S. series. Amazon has now committed to two further seasons for Prime Instant in the UK. Filming is to begin immediately with launch dates still to be set.
Matthew Macfadyen stars in the Victorian-era detective drama that’s set in the aftermath of the Jack The Ripper murders. Ripper Street is produced by Tiger Aspect and Lookout Point and created by Richard Warlow. Exec producer Saul Venit of Lookout Point, says, “Keeping this series going for 37 episodes over five series is a hugely exciting achievement and is testament to the extraordinary creative results, as well as to the visionary teams at BBC Worldwide and Amazon as our core commercial partners.” (Deadline)
