Movie News: Matthew Macfadyen to star in 'The Trapp Family: A love of music' movie?

According to this Dutch newspaper article (The Dutch newspaper is De Telegraaf or The Telegraph), Matthew Macfadyen has received one of the leading roles in a new film about the famous Von Trapp family. The film tentatively titled, The Trapp Family: A love of Music (via google translate) will be about the famous singing Von Trapp family made famous in the classic The Sound of Music film starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Of course, this is file under movie rumors, for now...as no other big newspapers nor big movie news trades are reporting this movie casting news. This will be interesting, if the article is to be believed (or confirmed) and if Matthew is actually doing this film project. We shall see...

  • Matthew Macfadyen will play Georg Von Trapp
  • The oldest daughter, Agathe von Trapp (to be played by Vanessa Redgrave) tells the Von Trapp story from the death of his first wife and the meeting with second wife Maria (Yvonne Catterfeld) in flashbacks caused by something happening in the present time
  • The film will be directed by Dutch director Ben Verbong (The Girl With The Red Hair)
  • At first the movie was only intended to come out in Germany and Austria in November, but the article also says that an American company has made an offer to distribute the movie worldwide
  • Filming begins Thursday (as in a day after tomorrow?) in Salzburg!

Today ( January 27th ) is the lovely and ethereally beautiful,  Golden Globe ,  BAFTA , Academy Award nominee  for  Best Actress  (for her outstanding performance as  Amy Dunne  in  Gone Girl ) and Emmy Award winner  Rosamund Pike  (aka  Pride & Prejudice 2005 's very own  Jane Bennet )'s  42nd Birthday ! Well, color me surprised (much like her P&P co-star Rupert Friend’s birthday confusion...) as I’ve been celebrating her birthday on this day for years, lol. I blame her IMDB and Wiki pages for not providing her real birthdate, if her actual birthday is, in fact not today! Although there’s that one time it was listed on the 28th, but for years and even now it’s still listed as the 27th! Our P&P (2005) movie's 10th Year Anniversary event here continues... One of the many things I love about Pride & Prejudice ( 2005 ) movie is the memorable and quotable quotes (and dialogue ). I know pretty much every line/quote uttered by various characters in this movie by heart. There isn't just one to remember because there are so many unforgettable quotes and one-liners from this movie. For my Top 10 Favorite Pride & Prejudice Movie Quotes here, it was very hard to pick and just narrow it down to 10, but that's the point of making a top 10 list. P&P Movie Script

I was looking through old threads over at IMDB a while back and I found a link to the P&P 2005 movie script ... from an awesome JA/P&P fanfiction related site called, Mrs. Darcy's Story Site . I've read the entire script from this site. It seemed accurate with deleted scenes included! (though there were spelling errors on some of the lines...just a lil' typo here and there)... Btw, the webmistress at Mrs. Darcy's site has added her comments to the script comparing this draft with what was actually released on film , which I thought was quite interesting (especially the deleted scenes from the movie ). It was a lot of fun to read. I thought I would keep the link and post it here (a lil' excerpt here) for those of you might be interested in reading this or have been looking for the P&P movie script/transcript online.
