Golden Globe Nominations for Rosamund Pike and Gone Girl, Keira Knightley and The Imitation Game in films and Downtown Abbey and Homeland on TV!
The 72nd Golden Globe Awards Nominations were just announced early this morning and two of my favorite P&P (2005) actors are nominated! Once again, another big woohoo!!!! Hope it continues for the BAFTAs and Oscars (crossing fingers and knock on wood!)...but let's not get ahead of ourselves here, lol...for now so happy for the Bennet girls getting their Golden Globe nominations!!!
Yay, Rosamund Pike is nominated (like her first SAG Award nomination yesterday, this is her first and well-deserved GG Nom!!) for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama (for Gone Girl, which received a total of 4 nominations including Best Actress for RP and director for David Fincher, but no Best Picture?!! Oh, well...at least Ros and Fincher got in and weren't snubbed!) and Keira Knightley (while she was previously nominated in 2006 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for Pride & Prejudice, this was her first GG nomination in a Supporting Role!) for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (for The Imitation Game, which also received a total of 5 nods including her co-star Benedict Cumberbatch for acting and Best Picture - Drama)! Also, on TV nominations, Downton Abbey (Penelope Wilton co-stars) has 2 nominations including Best TV Drama and Best Supporting Actress for Joanne Froggartt (aka Ana Bates!) and Homeland (Rupert Friend co-stars) with Claire Danes nominated for the Best Actress category. While The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (Donald Sutherland and Jena Malone co-star) got a nod in Best Original Song - "Yellow Flicker Beat" for Lorde.
The 72nd Annual Golden Globe® Awards show, which will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for the third year in a row, will air on Sunday, January 11, 2015, live coast-to-coast on NBC with the pre-show from 4:00-5:00 p.m. (PST)/7:00-8:00 p.m. (EST), and main telecast from 5:00-8:00 p.m. (PST)/8:00-11:00 p.m. (EST) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

Also, Keira and Rosamund's reactions of the GG Nominees...
Keira Knightley – Best performance by an actress in a supporting role – Drama – Imitation Game
“I felt so lucky to have portrayed Joan Clarke, such an extraordinary woman who defied convention and was part of a moment in history. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign press for this honor, and for recognizing our film. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.”
ROSAMUND PIKE / BEST ACTRESS NOMINEE / GONE GIRL – “It is as if a magic carpet picked me up last year and it is astonishing and exhilarating that it has taken me all the way here. I am nothing but grateful to have had the opportunity to dive into a role like this. All thanks really go to David Fincher for his guidance and for allowing me to play Gillian Flynn’s incredible, confounding character. I’m very honored to be nominated alongside actresses I have long admired. Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for this nomination!”

Keira Knightley was phenomenal in Imitation Game. I also liked Rosamund Pike but I will like award to go to Keira Knightley. Maybe also because i liked Imitation game more than Gone girl.
ReplyDeleteAmazing actress, Keira Knightley was my favorite in Imitation Game.
