Recycled Pride & Prejudice Movie Costumes

Costumes for the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film were designed by Academy Award winner*  (Anna Karenina*), which was nominated for an Academy Award in Best Achievement in Costume Design in 2006.
Despite not winning her first Oscar nomination for P&P, Jaqueline’s designs (See Pride & Prejudice (2005) Costumes designed by Jacqueline Durran) have gone on to be used in several Regency era dramas, including Becoming JaneSense and Sensibility and Northanger Abbey.

Here are some images that the P&P costumes were reused in other period dramas via Recycled Movie Costumes (including captions) below...

This costume, designed by Jaqueline Durran for the 2005 Pride &Prejudice, was worn by Kiera Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet.  It was used again in 2007 in Sense and Sensibility on Charity Wakefield as Marianne Dashwood.

Several gowns from the 2005 Pride & Prejudice were recycled for use in Becoming Jane just two years later. This charming pink dress was first used on Carey Mulligan as Kitty Bennet. When it was used again on Anna Maxwell Martin as Cassandra Austen, some minor alterations seem to have been made. A ruffle has been added around the neck line, and since it is clearly from the same fabric, there is the very real probability that the fabric was obtained from the skirt of the dress.

This lovely green Regency gown was originally worn on Kelly Reilly as Caroline Bingley. It was most recently seen again on Keri Russel as Jane Hayes in the 2013 film Austenland.

This red gown was first seen in Pride & Prejudice on Kelly Reilly as Caroline Bingley. It was used again in 2010 on  Anna Madeley as Mariana Belcombe in The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister.  It was used a third time the 2013 mini-series Death Comes to Pemberley on Jenna Coleman as Lydia Wickham. The dress seems to have undergone some minor adjustments on Jenna Coleman. The front seems to have been pinned a bit higher than the previous times it was used.

This bonnet has been seen in several productions. It was first created for the 2005 Pride & Prejudice, where it was worn on Rosamund Pike as Jane Bennet.  It was used again in 2007 on Jessica Ashworth as Lucy Lefroy in Becoming Jane.  It was used a second time in 2007 in Northanger Abbey on Catherine Walker as Eleanor Tilney.   In 2009 it was seen twice - first on Emily Blunt as Queen Victoria in The Young Victoria, and then in the mini-series Emma, where it was worn on Christina Cole as Mrs.Elton.
