'Homeland' Adds Rupert Friend as Series Regular for Season 2 (Exclusive)
Homeland is upping the ante for its second season.
The Showtime terrorism drama has enlisted Rupert Friend as a series regular for its upcoming sophomore season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
Friend, whose credits include 2005's Pride & Prejudice and 2009's The Young Victoria, will play Peter Quinn, a button-down CIA analyst who oversees a critical operation on the Claire Danes and Damian Lewis starrer.
The actor joins Lost's Zuleikha Robinson, who will recur as Roya Hammad, a Middle Eastern field journalist with ties to high-ranking terrorist Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban). Her path will cross with Brody (Lewis) when she delivers an ultimatum.
Friend, who dated Keira Knightley from 2005-10, is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group. He's currently on the Homeland set in Charlotte, N.C., shooting his first episode with the cast.
Homeland, which collected the Critics' Choice Award for best drama Monday, returns Sept. 30.
