Yes, Rosamund Pike was Joe Wright's first choice for the role of Jane.

33. How did Donald Sutherland got cast in this film?
According to Joe Wright, he cast Donald Sutherland after seeing him in Cold Mountain (2003). Sutherland reminded Wright of his father.

Yes, according to director Joe Wright, on his dvd commentary, Matthew Macfadyen (Mr. Darcy) has very poor eyesight. In the misty morning shot, the director, Joe Wright, was behind the camera waving a red flag so Macfadyen knew where to walk.

35. What was the name of the song playing during the Netherfield Ball (Mr. Bingley's private Ball) when Mr. Darcy and Caroline Bingley were dancing?

During Mr. Bingley's private ball, when Ms. Bingley and Mr. Darcy are dancing with each other, Ms. Bingley says, "I can't help feeling that someone is going to produce a piglet and make us chase it." The song they were dancing to is called "The Tithe Pig."

  1. I did'nt know Rosamund turned down the role of Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for this!

    I'm glad she did, because it was the best descision ever! :)

  2. JW, regarding the role of Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter, I just found a recent interview article of RP that she didn't turn it down as she wasn't even asked. So, I edited out that part and will post a new one for that with RP's interview/article correction, lol.
