Keira and her Karenina dress
One of the dresses Keira Knightley wore in the recent film adaptation of Anna Karenina will be on display in the forthcoming Hollywood Costume exhibition at the V&A. The film was directed by Joe Wright and co-starred Jude Law.See more images of Keira with her Karenina dress (including Jacqueline Durran in a couple of them) below...
The exhibition includes costumes of more than 100 of the most unforgettable film characters from a century of Hollywood filmmaking, 1912–2012, from Charlie Chaplin through the Golden Age of Hollywood to the designs for Avatar.
The exhibition is divided into three acts. Act 1 focusses on the role of the costume designer; Act 2 on the relationship between designer and the rest of the creative team; and Act 3, or the Finale, celebrates the central characters themselves.
Most of these cinema costumes have never left their private or archival collections in California, and most of the clothes have never been on public display before.
The exhibition opens on October 20.
