Carey Mulligan to attend 2009 Melbourne International Film Festival

According to The West Australian, Carey Mulligan will be attending the 2009 Melbourne International Film Festival which begins July 24th, the opening night of the festival.

Other guests include French filmmaker Claire Denis with her new film 35 Shots of Rum, fresh-faced star Carey Mulligan from the coming-of-age drama An Education, and Michael Nyman, the minimalist composer known for his many collaborations with Peter Greenaway.

(Carey talked about watching "An Education at Sundance ^ in part 3 interview and mentioned co-star Rosamund Pike, which she calls Ros and how she loved the movie. Here's part of her interview: "An Education I just got really emotional and started crying. When the credits start rolling that was such a brilliant job. I loved it so much. So sitting down and watching on that, I was surprised at how like...not surprised and I trusted Lone it would be brilliant, but what I loved was Matthew Beard and Ros (Rosamund Pike), and Alfred...and watching all of them. But you never really see, really. I mean you can see how people were brilliant and you forget and you watch it and just... I emailed Ros and just told her she's so, I mean she's so brilliant in it. And they all are. And so that was such a treat and I could actually sit and watch it, which was so weird 'cause it's hard to watch yourself, but I could watch it 'cause every time someone came on like that, it was such a joy.")
