Keira Knigtley has started hitting those high notes as she prepares for what will be the most important role of her career so far.

Keira will play Eliza Doolittle in a new screen version of My Fair Lady, which will begin filming in the spring of 2010.


Keira recently met a top singing teacher, who gave the 23-year- old star a series of vocal exercises.


The actress can sing, as she proved in the film The Edge Of Love, but the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe score is a demanding one, particularly the top C notes she'll need to hit on I Could Have Danced All Night.


Later next year Keira will begin working with a choreographer and a movement director, and then train daily with a singing coach and an expert in diction: all of the coaching that will transform her into Eliza.
