New Keira Knightley Inteview from CBS' The Early Show

Keira Knightley has a new interview by British TV Personality Amanda Holden (see pic of her with Keira to your left courtesy of Amanda Holden herself) that aired very early this morning for CBS's The Early Show. The video is not available yet, but I'll update this post as soon as it becomes available.

For now, here's an excerpts of Keira's interview from the CBS' The Early Show website:
A Chilling Turn for Keira Knightley in New Film

British Actress Stars in Unexpectedly Chilling New Film Based on the Book by Kazuo Ishiguro, "Never Let Me Go"

(CBS)  Keira Knightley, radiant star of beautiful films of days gone by is in a new film based on the book by Kazuo Ishiguro, "Never Let Me Go." The film imagines a world of lives cut short under exceptional circumstances.

"Early Show"Special Contributor Amanda Holden spoke to the stunning actress in London where she lives.

According to Holden, the stunning actress says she's a London girl and that she's had a lovely childhood, but Knightley has been a movie star from the age of seventeen. She since made a dozen films. And none of those characters she says are anything like her.

But it is this new horror film -- horror because it fills you with horror, and it has taken her in a whole new direction.

Playing the quintessential English aristocrat, the exquisite Knightley has illuminated costume dramas from to "Pride and Prejudice" to "Atonement" to the billion dollar franchise "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Knightley's love life seems rock solid, actually, she's been seen with the actor Rupert Friend, whom she met while filming "Pride and Prejudice" and though she absolutely does not want to talk about him...

Talulah Riley marries her long time fiancee Elon Musk

Looks like Lydia Bennet isn't the first Bennet girl (of the 5 Bennet sisters) to get hitched after all...or at least if we're talking about real life and not the movie, as the P&P 2005 young actresses who played the fictional Bennet sisters (Rosamund Pike, Keira Knightley, Talulah Riley, Carey Mulligan, and Jena Malone) in the 2005 film, Pride & Prejudice were famously known. Talulah Riley (best known to P&P movie fans as Mary Bennet, the middle Bennet sister. Interesting Fact: Talulah is the youngest amongst her P&P co-stars who made up the Bennet sisters in the film), who just celebrated her 25th birthday over the weekend (Sept. 26th!) reportedly got married as well with her multi-millionaire fiancee, internet tycoon Elon Musk in a cathedral in Scotland. Congrats to Talulah Riley and her new marriage!

Short Film News: Keira Knightley joins Colin Firth in 'Steve' directed by Rupert Friend

As previously posted here, Rupert Friend Keira Knightley (P&P '05's Elizabeth Bennet) and Tom Mison (Lost In Austen's Mr. Bingley) is also in Steve. Very interesting! Check out the official site for Steve with P&P Actors in three different P&P versions (1995, 2005, and Lost in Austen 2008) are all in the same short film. Looks like we have Darcy 1995, Lizzie 2005, and Bingley (LA 2008), being directed by Wickham 2005...brilliant casting (though where's Jane or Lydia Bennet? lol) and director and keeping it in the P&P family, eh?

Here, I made a few screen caps of the images from the official site for Steve of Colin, Keira, and Tom below including 2 promo banners I made, lol...(updated 10/2 with new Keira Knightley and Tom Mison still...after the cut...)

New Rosamund Pike Interview

The UK's Daily Mail has a new (and very interesting read) Rosamund Pike (photo by Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images Europe) Interview as she promotes her new films Made In Dagenham (in theaters October 1st in the UK and November 19th in the US) and Barney's Version.

Here's an excerpts of her interview:

Rosamund Pike
: From reluctant English rose to Britain's new screen queen

Rosamund Pike and I are meeting for lunch in a pub near London’s Old Vic theatre. Not because she’s appearing in a show there, but because the kitchen serves the likes of deep-fried pig’s head, cold roast beef on dripping toast and lamb sweetbreads. Just scanning the menu makes me blanch, but the 31-year-old former Bond girl – Keira Knightley’s sister in Pride and Prejudice and Carey Mulligan’s friend in An Education – hasn’t tried offal before, and what is the point of life if not the giddy accumulation of lovely, new experiences?

Rosamund Pike was born in London. Her parents Julian and Caroline were opera singers – he is now a professor at the Birmingham Conservatoire – which made for a peripatetic childhood in Europe, where she mastered both French and German and learned piano and cello. When the family returned to Britain when she was seven, she went on to win a scholarship to fee-paying Badminton School in Bristol, alma mater of Iris Murdoch, after sitting an entrance exam for which she was completely untutored.

‘I had never sat any sort of test before. It didn’t bode well when we arrived at this incredibly grand school, where the other parents were emerging from BMWs, and the exhaust pipe of our ancient Volvo estate fell off at the top of the drive so that we had to freewheel down it. As I sat in the examination room, I could see people setting out elaborate picnics while my mother chatted to the RAC man. Because it was my first ever exam, I had no idea you weren’t allowed to talk, and I got a terrible telling off because the girl next to me was upset and I asked her if she needed any help.’

She was reportedly mortified by this end to their three-year relationship, but won’t discuss it, although it would possibly qualify as one of those scrapes she gets into. That was in 2008; these days she says that she’s ‘as single as I want to be and as together as I want to be’, with someone she mysteriously alludes to as a ‘fellow adventurer’.

‘Being single has propelled me into some amazing adventures,’ she muses. ‘After what happened, I have nothing to lose any more; I’m not scared of being heartbroken, because love is always going to take you somewhere new and frightening and wonderful. When you spend time in a couple, that starts to define you and, while it was fun, I’ve discovered that it’s also fun being me. I might meet someone tomorrow or in two years and that’s fine. Meanwhile, I get to live out the most glorious love affairs on screen. How fabulous is that?’

Watch the first trailer for Colin Firth's 'The King's Speech'

One of the movies I want to see this year is The King's Speech starring  (best known as P&P '95's Mr. Darcy). It's been getting some positive reviews (from the recent Toronto Film Fest) and early Oscar buzz.

Not too mention, "The King's Speech" also reunites Firth with (P&P '95's Elizabeth Bennet), his co-star in the much-loved 1995 miniseries "Pride and Prejudice," plays Geoffrey Rush's character's Lionel Logue's wife. Helena Bonham Carter, Guy Pierce, and Michael Gambon also co-star.

Here's a synopsis of...

The King’s Speech
director: Tom Hooper

The King’s Speech tells the story of the man who would become King George VI, the father of the current Queen, Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George “Bertie” VI (Colin Firth) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded nervous stammer and considered unfit to be King, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war. Jennifer Ehle co-stars. (via IndieWire)
And finally, the first trailer! It looks pretty good! What do you think? Will you see it? Feel free to post and comment here.

Happy Birthday Talulah Riley!

Today (Sept. 26) is Talulah Riley's (aka Mary Bennet of P&P) 25th birthday. Miss Riley was born in Hertfordshire, England. Interestingly, it's the same place her P&P movie character Mary Bennet was from. P&P fans instantly knew this, but for those who are not familiar or just discovering P&P movie (and novel), Mary, the middle child of 5, lives with her parents (Mr. & Mrs. Bennet) and 4 sisters (Jane, Lizzie, Kitty, and Lydia) in the Bennet family home in Longbourne as the town of Ware and is near the town of Meryton (both in Hertfordshire). Her eldest sister Jane mentioned Hertfordshire to Bingley in the P&P movie during the assembly dance at Meryton, "how do you like it here in Hertfordshire, Mr. Bingley?"

Happy Birthday Talulah Riley!

Talulah Riley's upcoming TV/Film Projects Update (as listed on her IMDB Filmography):
  1. The Dilemma (2011) (post-production) .... Concept Car Spokesmodel
  2. Inception (2010) .... Blonde
... aka "Inception: The IMAX Experience" - USA (IMAX version)
