Oscar Week: Fun Photo Captions (Day 3)

LOL! Sorry for the LQ screen cap ^ as that was the only one I could find in that particular scene to do fun captions...

Actual lines from 's brilliant portrayal of Queen Victoria in The Young Victoria (which, unfortunately, Emily was snubbed for a Best Actress nomination by not only her country's own BAFTA, but also, the Academy Awards) ...

Queen Victoria: "How dare you spoke of me in that way before! How dare you talk across me as if I were a child!"
Queen Victoria: "I will tell you what you thought. You thought that I was a WOMAN! To be pity, passed over, and ignored."
Queen Victoria: "I told you before and I will tell you again. You are my husband here and that is all!"

The Young Victoria was not completely snubbed by either BAFTA (it won for Best Make-Up and Best Costume Design), The Custume Designers Guild (Sandy Powell won for Best Costume Design) and the Academy Awards on other categories, and at least got nominated for 3 Oscars for the following categories...

The Young Victoria
GK Films Production (Apparition)
  • Art direction - Art Direction: Patrice Vermette; Set Decoration: Maggie Gray
  • Costume design - Sandy Powell
  • Makeup - Jon Henry Gordon and Jenny Shircore
Speaking of Sandy Powell (The Young Victoria's Award winning Costume Designer)...
According to Awards Daily, This is Sandy Powell’s eighth nomination (she already won 2 awards so far from The BAFTAs and Costume Designers Guild awards) for The Young Victoria.  She has to be one of the most celebrated costumers at the moment.  She sat down with Paul Gaita at for a brief interview. The Envelope.

You can see photos of the designs from the film, currently the front-runner to win on March 7.

Good luck to the crew of The Young Victoria for their 3 Oscar nominations on Sunday! :)

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, will air live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday, March 7th 8:00pm EST/5:00pm PST on ABC
